Simon London + The Spirits

Come and join Simon London + the Spirits as they launch the first single from their upcoming album with the esteemed company of No Flowers No Wedding Dress at Clancy's Fremantle on Friday 6th February.
'Standing On The Edge Of The World' is the first single release from their upcoming fifth studio album of the same name. As Freo-expats, they are excited to team up once again with long-admired musical comrades No Flowers No Wedding Dress at one of their favoured local haunts in Clancy's.

Off the back of their last album Don't You Forget About Me - well supported by radio and press on both sides of the country - the new single once again pulls no punches. Standing On The Edge Of The World is a pounding, anthemic tribute to their great southern homeland, to sea and sky, evoking shafts of sunlight and raw, unforgiving ocean power as its rolling drum thump hits like waves on the granite. Steeped in the wash of Australian landscape - think The Triffids, The Church, and Midnight Oil - the three piece's sense of place is entirely tangible in this new offering.

No Flowers No Wedding Dress

Long-time friends and alt-rock stalwarts No Flowers No Wedding Dress join the bill, reuniting with the Spirits in one of Fremantle’s most iconic rooms.

The musical partnership of No Flowers No Wedding Dress was inspired by their high school musical heroes. Deciding there were just too many band names starting with 'The', they settled on a line from the Bruce Springsteen song "The River". Since those early years NFNWD have built their reputation on intelligent songwriting, emotionally-charged sets, tight live performances, and a stage energy that will leave its mark.

The band has shared the stage with plenty of iconic Australian bands including The Black Eyed Susans, Weddings Parties Anything, The Falling Joys, Ed Keupper, The Mark of Cain, Died Pretty, Ice-cream Hands, and more. The boys have toured internationally and built an impressive catalogue of music and achievements over the years. But they remain firmly part of WA music history - not as nostalgia pieces, but as a band that continously evolves while still remaining unmistakably themselves.

Expect dynamic tunes, layered guitars, big hooks, and shimmering atmospheres. This will be a rare musical treat - get your tickets from Oztix or at the door.
